Any ideas... ? channel 5 website used to say January 2009, but as it rapidly approaches, even that's gone from their FAQ section....
Thanks folks,

Similarly, when does it get released on DVD?? Nothing listed anywhere. Watching one a week would be too much for me I think!

They come out pretty quickly on R1 after being on tv. Well 5 & 6 did. I know ill cave and buy R1 even with the 4:3 issue just to have the complete set.

Why is it a 4:3 issue? Surely that's the way they are supposed to be seen?

Its an issue to me :D I prefer it in 16:9.
This reminds me of the old buffy dvd threads :p

Nah I don't care either way, but it seems odd to wait for a version not looking as intended and with sped-up chipmunk like voices :D
Buffy's framing issues never bothered me either
The R1 will be 16:9, as per the Sony re-releases and their Season 6 release.

At least it won't sound like Dutch has a helium addiction unlike the R2 :D ;)

Nah if you've watched all the US editions, then listen to Dutch in PAL-land it sounds hilarious

Ive honestly never noticed any of the speeded voices on these shows. Same with the Wire. Ive a mixture of R1 and R2 and everyone sounds the same.
Pal speed up is most noticeable on TV shows as you know the characters so well.
I can't go near my R2 Buffy's these days as I hate the pitch of the actors voices, especially Willow and Buffy.

The only pitch difference I really noticed was in the theme tune... after six series of R2 action, I was amazed at how slow and ponderous the main theme sounded slowed down to its proper speed.
Another one here who prefers widescreen - simply because I'd rather have my screen filled with 'content' rather than black bars. If 16:9 means cropping the top and bottom of a 4:3 image, that's another matter entirely though.

It starts on Channel 5 in February according to the Guardian
Channel 5 US (or whatever it's calld) is advertising season 7 as coming soon, presumably the series will be shown on their main channel as well.
Cheers,
Will have to look out for it to add to my Sky+ :)
February 16th, 10pm, Five USA
I forgot The new season started on Five US last night, according to some listings it is repeated tonight at 11pm on the same channel but other listings show it has been replaced by a programme on Patrick Swayze  I would be grateful if anyone can say if or when it is being repeated.
