....you won't watch part 3!!!!

As most people I love part 1 and part 2, but was horrified
by the 3rd in the series!!!

What happened!?
I still have nightmares of the scene with Robocop and his flying jet pack!!!!

I thought 3 was watchable, I tried watching it the other night though and the guy who plays Robocop seemed to happy, it didnt fit right....

I watched all 3 in a row last saturday when i got it, Robocop 3 is watchable for the most part, but no one would ever be better than Peter Weller himself.

Actually, since receiving it (thanks ringos!) i've only watched part 3  (curious and all that!)

to be honest, i wasn't expecting much but i thought it was ok - ish (gets an extra point for having the "I'll buy that for a dollar" man in it :D )

but i still think part 2 is under rated :p

I don't think Part 3 is too bad at all. The first half of the film - although obviously aimed at a younger audience - is quite entertaining. Admittedly the last half hour isn't excellent - especially the notorious flying sequence. :D

I think Robo2 is the worst in some ways. It was too shiny and bright, and the violence was there for the sake of it. For example...

the torture scene with Duffy. Why did it have to be so nasty - it didn't add to Cain's character devlpment, and seeing as nobody cared about Duffy anyway, why make him suffer?

Goblin

I liked the scene with Duffy i think it showed how evil kain was, and if it wasnt there I would be wondering what the hell happened to him :D

If you think 3 is bad then you obviously haven't seen the TV series.

Off topic, has anyone noticed the pause during the "seamless" branching? I need to know before investing my student loan :D

I've sat through 1 & 2 - 1 is a TIMELESS Classic, 2 I found has aged a bit - Nice stop motion at the end, but a bit dull - I'll be using 3 as a coaster... It was on the box during the week, and I can't see how ANY of you see it as even mediocre... It's COMPLETE and UTTER TOSS! >

I remember seeing Robocop 3 at the cinema when I was 14...

I guess I'll watch the disc, so that I get my money's worth. It is dumb and rubbish, but I guess it could fill 90 minutes of boredom next time I have nothing to do. There are some good one-liners, and Rip Torn is a good comedy actor.

I've never seen 3 but part 2 is one of the few films i've walked out on while at the cinema. I thought it was horrible.

Out of curiosity the other films were:
Terminator 2
Die Hard 2
Arachnophobia

Bad films.

It shows how people have different tastes, as i love T2, die hard 2, and Arachnophobia, that said i do agree 2 is poor, and 3 is just very poor.

===================
I bought the Box Set yesterday and skipped to the scenes I knew had been re-added to check the seamless branching. I checked a few minutes before and wathed until a few minutes after the added scenes, and spotted no pauses during any 'switching'.

Then again, I don't think I've ever noticed a layer switch pause on any of my 50 or so DVDs either. And I only have a cheap LG 3200E DVD player.

Man of some taste - T2 is a movie I hate with a vengeance - Sarah and John Connor are 2 of the worst movie characters of all time. Looking forward to the 3rd one though - Sarah is only in it for a few flashbacks and stupid Eddie Furlong will have hopefully lost that really annoying voice!!!!!

How can you not like DH 2 though????

I''m not a fan of this either. I really enjoyed the original and "With A Vengeance", but the second one I couldn't really see being better than any Steven Seagal type garbage. The funny bits weren't funny, the villain wasn't charismatic and it all seemed a bit laboured. :D

DH2 is absolute **** !.
Cant stand that film, not a patch on the original & quite possibly one of the worst mainstream action films ever made.

IMHO Die Hard 2 is very good - not a patch on the first but very good.

Well, everyone can have their opinion, it doesn't happen to be mine.

The guy who likes Die Hard 2 but disses Terminator 2 should be ashamed of himself

I have no shame at all - T2 is utter and total rank garbage (and I LOVE action movies), it is too long, too dull for the most part and I hated the 'good' guys (bar Arnie who with Robert Patrick are the ONLY things in the whole mess of a movie). I don't know if Cameron wanted this to be a thriller or all out action movie - he ended up with neither.

I even bought it on DVD to see if it was as bad as I remembered it (hadn't seen it in about 3 years) - it was somehow even worse than I remembered

Surely someone agrees with me about DH 2 being excellent and T2 sucking even worse than a cheap ho?

he is a L'pool fan ;) (A certain manure fan has been a little quiet recently - is he trying to hide his sig :D )

TBH it depends on personal tastes - I hated Saving P Ryan and the Green Mile, films which are seen by some people and the media as masterpieces. IMO DH2 is good movie to watch when you are in the mood for mindless violence. I rate T2, but again it is not to some people's tastes. BTW I am glad SC is not in 3.

Basically it's like this
Robocop - Excellent Storyline/ Violent action
Robocop 2 - Even more Violent than the first with inferior story
Robocop 3 - Lame toned down version with crap story

I heard in DVD Review 34 that Paul Verhoeven might be considering a real Robocop Sequel with Paul Weller also considering it..

What cases do the discs in the Robocop trilogy come in? If they all come in separate amarays I would be tempted buying and then flogging the dog that is RC3 on ebay (people seem to buy any rubbish there for over inflated prices). To be honest I'll probably buy it anyway just for the first film.

Just watched Robocop 3 from the box set....and what crap it was!!!
First off, the story, dialogue and characters were ridden with the worst clichés Hollywood could come up with. I hated them all - the little girl (who is of course a computer wizard), the fat Afro-American woman (an overweight Sarah Connor), the boss of those special troops (from the first momen on you know he is a bad guy), the stupid Japanese Samurai robots (as if multi-national Japanese corporations couldn't build anything else than sword-wielding samurais...), the ugly splatter punks ripped right off Mad Max 2....
But even worse was director Dekker. This guy surely doesn't know how to direct gripping action sequences. It was all lame and had an amateurish "just got into film school" touch to it with a cheap TV-style look to it. I saw it at cinemas when I was 15 but didn't remember it was really that bad.

It is just as bad as the TV series...I'm really considering just taking the disc out of the box set and throwing it right out of my window...

No the Films are not in seperate Amaray cases they are in a cardboard open setpiece very similar to The omen trilogy and scream trilogy boxsets..

But it's still worth the £30 for the special edition Robocop and Robo 2 the 3rd one is just filler really..
