Can anyone give me comparisons on the Criterion edition of this versus the BFI or any other edition?
Am wondering whether it's going to be necessary to fork out on the CC edition if in this instance it is better elsewhere?
Many thanks in advance.
can't give a comparison but i have the criterion edition which is in fairly bad shape but obviously it depends on the source material.
it is probable that the criterion is superior as bfi are not known for quality e.g. Salo which was a very bad transfer.
the criterion offers a documentry about the film and the fable, audio commentry by Arthur Knight which is dry but informative and the original fable translated to english.it has optional english subs and excellent menus.
