Does anyone know if www.themobilerepublic.com are any good or not?
They seem to have the best deals for the two phones I'm looking at, and was just wondering if anyone had any experience of them.
As a side note does anyone have any opinions on the Samsung A300 and the Sony Z7.
Any help most welcome.

Never had any experience with MR but i do have a Samsung A300 phone to talk about. First looks a pretty nifty phone then once you start poking around you realise a fwe features that are there but no where near as good as they should be:-

Holds only 10 SMS messages in all

The screen when writing messages does not have text wrap around so the words are half on one line and half on another

The dictionary cannot be updated with your own words :(

Adding smilies is a lot more difficult than other phones i have used in fact just not worth it sometimes

Sound quality is fine although people report that the other end fades in and out

Does not vibrate when recieves a message :(

Not very good battery life

No Games(Not that this is important)

+On the plus side

Looks good ... erm.... its shiny and blue screen
Looks the part
Struggling......

Not heard anything bad about the mobilerepublic, though when someone tried to post a bargain for them recently, they were hacked at the same time - so there could be questions over security (maybe look on the website then ring them to sort stuff out?).

I have a Z5, and it's fantastic, I presume the Z7 can only be better (certainly looks it).

The A300 - it's as common as muck! (It's nearly as bad as the Nokia, everyones got one! get a sony...)

That seems to be both a combination of the phone and the sim card. When I was on Vodafone, I had room for twenty. On Genie I only have room for 10. My mate on Vodafone using his Nokia 7010 had room for well over 50! His phone started to store them once the sim card was full.

I just sold my z5 and would never consider the z7 as an upgrade. Not that its not any good but its just not what it should be. I've heard the build quality is not as good and does not have the scratch resistant (UV?) coating the z5 had.

If that is the case with the Z5 then god help the z7, as with my z5 the build quality is terrible, there is less paint on the phone now than plastic showing through! I certainly would not buy a Sony phone again, stick with Nokia.

I did hear that the early z5's had paint problems, mine was ok apart from a couple of tiny marks but I think something sharp caused that. I just got a 8310 and am disappointed that nokia advertise the covers with different colour buttons when they don't come with the covers, and you can't easily buy them separately (see my thread in the general forum)
