Scenario is this.
In our living room last night we were watching a video of something taped on the weekend. I wanted to record Time Gentleman Please on Sky One, so I went into the other room to record it.
Got there, discovered Sky not available on video. This is because Sky is beamed via a video sender to AV1 on TV.
How do I get the video to record AV1?
In the end had to turn off the video and watch Time Gentleman Please, which annoyed the wife so much she went to bed.
By the way I know the obvious solution is to get Sky+ or TIVO and I will but at the moment I need an answer to this particular problem.

Not a perfect solution (seeing as you already use the infra-red room sender thing) but I have a HUGE length of coax that comes out of the second 'av out' socked on the back of the digibox - it goes right round the house and into the video in the dining room.
That way I can watch/tape Sky in another room. You could do that, but then you would lose the infra-red thing I suppose - not perfect, but it would work :)

Plug the video sender receiver thingy into the VCR rather than the TV....
..then buy Sky+, you won't regret it! (becoming an evangalist!)

I like the idea but the video in the spare room is there because it only has one SCART. If I connect the video sender I won't be able to connect the TV to the video.
Though does it really matter? It's not used a great deal so the picture loss won't be that noticeable. Or will it?

Your VCR will have a button called 'Input Select' (or something like it).
This will normally be set to record from the aerial input, but it can be changed (on my VCR) to L1 (which corresponds to AV1).
Worth a try at least.

Or the far superior (IMHO) TiVo.
