I just found out that there is a DVD with the whole Crying Freeman Anime on it.

I can't find out what languages/subs are on it . I can get by if there's a french subtitle (barly :-) on it. Does anybody know the specs?

Also, maybe somebody created a sub script for it?

Thanx!

...ahh... two DVD-9 discs in Digipak
/ AR = 1.33:1
/ Sound = original Japanese mono (DD 1.0), or optional French dub 2.0 (DD 2.0)
/ optional French subtitles
/ first episode has commentary (in French) by French-Canadian Director of the live-action version, Christophe Gans

Thanx!

I might go for it then.

Being norwegian my french isn't that good, but I'm still learning. This might be a good excuse to practise :-)

I have actually begun translating this to english. I'm not sure when I will be finished but I think it will be about a month.

I don't know any french at all, so that's why I'm translating with the on line translators and the Crying Freeman US Manga translation. Since most of the dialogue is from the manga it's not too hard to get it right.

Image quality, when watching through dvdsubber, is OK. I'd give it about a 6.5-7 on a scale of 10.

The design of the "case" is absolutely GORGEUS, though.

Ericf,

This gives me even more reason to seriously consider this set...

Have you used DVDSubber? Some computers seem to have trobles with it but if you can't use it there are other programs, like Sub Station C that can run separately from the software players. Problem is when to start the subs.

I have actually translated the first DVD already. I'm just lazy right now because my arms and wrists are really tired. That's why I will probably not be able to make any more translations for a while. I am currently rewriting a script I gor for Evangelion: Rebirth since the translation in the available script is so awful compared to the DivX file of it I have.

It is a pretty good series, I think. The animation isn't all that much but if you like Crying Freeman like I do this series is needed to complete the collection. i know that ADV in th US have recently acquired the rights to this series but I don't think it will be released this year. They have sait they will release Golden Boy "soon" as well but I'm not too sure about that. i might try the French release of that as well.

I will upload the DVD Subber file of DVD 1 to the upload directory of scriptclub.org.
Well, see ya.

Hi!

I havent't tried the subber yet, though I downloaded it. I was going to use it for "Le pacte de loupes", but I just found out that it's coming out in Norway in the original format with norwegian subs.

I really like Le Pacte Des Loups and I have the French DVD. If you want the whole story, you should get the french DVD anyway. In Sweden it's Egmont thet distributes the movie on DVD and they made a mistake with the audio so they had to recall them all. I think you will get the same DVD since there are four languages on the Egmont DVD and the text cannot be removed:

There is an image in this thread. It's not all that clear but there are 4 languages for text.

This version is 2 h 17 min long and the other version is about 7 minutes longer. It shows us more of the love story and makes the story more comprehensible.
