Can anyone who has seen Memento confirm the very last scene of the film. I recently bought and watched it and the ending was so unexpected it left me unsure if my DVD skipped to the end credits. Great film though.

Well, the ending is rather sudden...

The last words spoken are "Now, where was I?" as Leonard pulls up outside the tattoo parlour. This essentially joins the two running narratives together in the middle.

There's more discussion on the film here:

Thanks. That's how my disc ended so now I'm going to have to watch it again (and possible again) to figure it all out. Don't mind that though as it was definitely one of the better new releases.

if you still cant work it out after multiuple viewings cant you choose to watch it in the 'correct' order on the DVD? Then work out the order of things, so when u watch it normally u know wats going on!

 confused?

Well, no is the simple answer.

The reason there's so much debate about the film isn't really because of the reverse structure, it's because of the unreliable narrator. There's very little we can actually take as 'fact', so we can only rely on opinions and assumptions for a lot of the story.

I'd have thought that yes was a better answer.

The R1 lists the scenes in chronological order, and I believe the R2 allows you to play the film in chronological order.

You can watch the movie in chronological order on the R2 version.

It's the Easter Egg 'The Beginning of the End'.

Go to the Special Features menu & hit 'ENTER' when the last polaroid has gone by & you're looking at Leonard's body.

I must say that I thought the film was great when played in either order.

Oops, I didn't mean you couldn't watch it in reverse order (you most definitely can on the R2) - I meant that doing so doesn't really help you work out the ambigious areas of the story.
