Saw this over on another forum (and mentioned by Boink in the photography forum) but thought it's well worth posting here as well. Jessops are currently doing their own brand 300 AFD Digital Flashguns for £34.25 (collect at store). Delivery is available if you need it at £4.95. I used a voucher to knock another 5% off the collected price (received text confirmation at £32.53) but I'm not sure of the t&c's so won't post it here.

And the Nikon fit is here (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=56&url=http://www.jessops.com/online.store/categories/Accessories/Flash/Flashguns/products/Jessops/300AFD%20Digital%20Flashgun%20for%20Nikon-35588/Show.html)

The only review I saw gave it 80% (at it's original £100 price point), pointing out uneven lighting and a slightly cool colour cast. I'm sure it will be much better than the onboard flash on my D40 though :)

Cool, might go with this for a cheap option to go with my 400D until I'm ready to move on to something bigger + better! :)

Would either of these work on a standard hotshoe - e.g. a wireless trigger? And do they have manual power adjustments?

Was going to go for this, but the review finishes:

"While it may have some good features, at the price and in comparison to others the Jessops unit performs poorly."

I know it is a third of the price now, but still....
