hi Folks,

I recently bought the SF1300 and 350 player, both of which are still boxed and unopened in my living room as i move house next week so want it to be all done their! Exciting!

However I've recently started wondering how exactly im supposed to set this system up the correct way.

Basically i want to know how will everything run?

As in, xbox360 (component) will optical go to SF1300 and the components direct to the TV? 350 HDMI straight to back to SF1300 and then use HDMI Output on Sf1300 to TV? Sky+ Box? How will Video/Sound work for this?

Ive noticed systems like DG820 has the options to put everything through the Amp and then just use HDMI to the TV. But im guessing the SF1300 cannot do this?

Rwniel has been a huge help again on this and did give some advise previously on the sound side of things but im just wondering where I will go with the Video side?

I also have a Wii, how will this go through the sound? Phono for sound, but what about Video? Again this is brandnew so unopened yet!

I mean have I even bought the right system for wat I need?

Cheers People

Ricky

Cheers.

Set up mine yesterday

For the 360, component straight into tv, then optical from 360 into 1300.

Not sure if Sky + is same as Sky hd, but my sky hd hdmi goes into tv then the optical from sky hd straight into 1300.

It all works fine for me, it is very straightforward

I imagine your television only has one video component input connection - ideally I would connect up the Wii using the optional Wii component lead rather than using composite/scart connection as it'll result in a better quality image. So you might want to consider purchasing a budget component switch box such as this one (this one, if you don't have one already. Audio from the Wii would be via one of the pairs of phono inputs (since it lacks either optical or coaxial digital output). The majority of games are encoded using Dolby Digital; set the SF1300 to Dolby Prologic II and whichever input your Wii is connected to and you should be good to go.

Sky+ is rgb scart straight into the television (handling the video), with surround audio via one of the optical digital audio connections on the SF1300.

350 to one of the hdmi inputs on the SF1300, with another hdmi lead connected between the output to your television - this is so the SF1300 can handle the hd associated surround audio (- all apart from DTS-HD Master Audio soundtracks due the lack of player decoding on this model).
