SP You were lucky with customs. I hav used them once and they let me down - kept me waiting for about 4 months for a backorder. i emailed them 3 or 4 times before they told me it shouldn't have been on the site
Then there was the cc fiasco..........
Yes, the CC thing.
Never been hit on customs, but the level of customer service they offer leaves a lot to be desired.
I have had no problems at all with them.
Top service every time.

I've found them to be the most reliable US based retailer. Used DVD Boxoffice a few times but they tended to be slow - ABsound have some of the most competitive prices and the DVD are always quick to arrive.
just ordered ghost world+groundhog day spec ed (27 squids shipped), and 20 mins later, whubang - shipped - maybe even in time for the weekend :)

I have also found them to be the most reliable CANADIAN based R1 retailer ... no complaints.. no problems .. fast and efficient.
R2 Retaillers need to attend customer service courses in the States and Oz. (Not the wizards hangout!)

The R4 is abysmal compared to the R1 - taken from Michaels R4 DVD comparism:
1.78:1 16x9 enhanced aspect ratio
Audio commentary from David Chase for episode 1
77 minute interview with David Chase conducted by Peter Bogdanovich
Two behind-the-scenes featurettes
Lists of awards and honours
Cast and Crew biographies
An episode summary
DVD-ROM extras
English Dolby Digital 5.1 448 Kb/s soundtrack
These are things which the R4 doesn't have - The R4 is P&S, DD 2.0 and sorely lacking on the extras front. Also the R1 is packed onto 4 discs instead of the R4 being on 6 discs with no loss in quality so making it easier to watch.
So it is DEFINATELY worth another £12! :D

got a spuffy box set sent from a&b that arrived a bit mangled - they were all too helpful when it came to setting up an rma and the refund i got covered more shipping than i paid, so i was actually up on the deal :) i know one example does not cover the whole situation, but in my experience at least, theyre top notch.......

I had a damaged disc from them, got an RMA, returned it and received the replacement all within two weeks. Didn't realise they had refunded my postage until I received my CC statement, I didn't even ask them to.
No complaints from me.
The best supplier of region 1 discs for me:clap:

Same as you Panavision ordered Monday arrived yesterday morning that beats the 2 Jersey suppliers by a couple of days which I am gobsmacked at. Only used them twice but think that a lot of pre-orders maybe going their way now. I lost all faith in ********* after hearing other people were receiving orders that I had pre-ordered and not received, Play are okay but if I get my films this quick from Canada then I'm gonna take the better price every time.

agreed - ABSound are an awesome supplier, and with disks costing £13-£14 and arriving within 3-4 days of ordering, its difficult to justify spending a few quid more from UK based R1 suppliers.
They've been excellent anytime I've used them with delivery usually in 5 days. DVDBO have really improved in their delivery times of late and they are customs friendly.
i was just organising my orders into 3's at absound (makes for cheap shipping), so sent them an email asking for certain items to be removed from certain order numbers.....2 minutes later (literally), and i get replies telling me its all been done, but  some stuff i didnt want shipping yet has moved onto processing - fire off a quick email and thirty seconds later disaster averted - a&b rule :)
