View Full Version : DVD Planet and Criterions
I have decided to get into Criterion at last and aim to start by getting a few Hitchcock's. The cheapeast I can find at the moment is DVD Planet but am concerned about placing an order for 3-4 discs and getting done at Mount Unpleasant :D
Any experience on 'mulitple' orders??

Multiple orders? LOL!!
You'll get done on a single Criterion from DVDPlanet, I did.
I thought as much! I recall you posting something along those lines before and was hoping you would post but am well impressed with your speed :D Go baby go
Where do I go then?

********* flog Criterions.
DVD Box Office (http://www.dvdboxoffice.com) are well worth a look but their delivery times are a bit of a lottery as they don't have realtime stock levels on their site. On a more positive note though nothing I've ordered from them has ever been touched by customs as I believe they re-ship from within the UK.

Have you ordered before from DVDPlanet? It's a pain in the arse if you haven't...you've got to send proof of CC ownership etc.
Try DeepDiscountDVD, ThunderDVD, A&B Sound et. al. if you want to risk it direct from US/Canada
********* if you don't.

The stuff you have to send doesn't necessarily have to be CC info - it merely has to be something official looking showing your current address.
It's well worth the effort. I have found DVDPlanet's Customer Service good and their shipping quick (although their shipping policy could be much better).
I've ordered 10 Criterions through the sale and they've all arrived in perfect nick (I may order two more). Mind you, Australia's more relaxed attitude to customs duty means this is something I don't have to worry about.
Yeah I'm registered with DVD Planet so that's sorted.
samuelowens - how have you been ordering your criterions - as singles or multiples?

And bear in mind that you 'could' be compromising your CC's fraud liability if you fax a CC statement.

All the titles I have received from them (20+) have been sent direct from Canada.
I would go with DV-depot.com, DHL is perfect for multiple titles - its also quick (3 days) and customs free.

Lorenzo, I've placed 2 orders of 5 titles each. One was out of stock and they charged full whack on shipping for it (which is why DVDPlanet needs to improve its shipping policy).
Bear in mind that Australia's customs limit is 10 times that of Britain (customs doesn't start taking an interest until $A500), so I can't comment on whether you'll get pulled up for it.
Cheers everyone - Depot look the best bet. I'll let you know the decision and outcome ;)
