OK I've got about £200 to spend and the following requirements:

Must Have/Be
1) Black
2) Hackable to multiregion
3) MP3
4) Chapter select
5) multicamera

Desirable
1) Jog control of player or remote
2) 2x scart
3) dolby 5.1 (6x output)
4) 100x+ scan speed
5) CD Text
6) Picture adjustment
7) DVD audio/DVD/r/rw compatable
8) 4x+ zoom

Basically I prefer as many gadgets as possible. I know it is a lot to ask for the money, but as long as it has the 'must haves' I will consider it.

I've narrowed it down to the Panasonic rv31-k (does have cdtext) or the Pioneer 444-k. If only the sony ns400 had mp3, I would be sorted!

If anyone has any suggestions, comments, good/bad experiences and could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

they will be a disc feature not player.

I'd recommend the 444 but only cos its the only one I've used. Only problem is the remote is a pile of poo.

If you are considering the Pioneer then also have a look at the Toshiba 210E. Has all your 'must haves' but it can't be hacked (same as the Pioneer), it will be chipped or software upgraded.

Looking at your 'desirables' I think your not going to have a chance with some of those on a £200 player. Maybe in 3/4 years.

EDITED for crap english:D

i thought pioneers were made multiregion thru a software modification/hack?

Thats why I said software upgrade, I took this as being the same as a 'software mod or hack'.

I'm reading everything wrong here :o what i meant was the pioneer is made m/r thru a software mod (hack, upgrade or whatever it is).

When you said it doesn't need a hack like the Pioneer, it sounded like the pioneer wasn't as good/easy when it came to making it m/r :)

Ahhh, I see where you are coming from now. What I meant was the Toshiba can't be hacked it has to be chipped or mod upgraded which is exactly the same as the Pioneer. No remote hacks are available for both these machines.

Got there in the end mate:D:)
