Kinda saw the ending coming but OMG!
Should make the next series VERY interesting!
Excellent Episode, the last few of the series have been very good indeed and agree with the others next series should be interesting!
Great episode to finish and great series, Spooks never fails to entertain. Saw the ending coming although for a minute I thought they might have stopped when Connie was defusing the bomb.

I was a bit sad there were no russians electrocuted given firstly the booby-trap and secondly the "runner's" slightly cavalier attitude to live rails...
Loved the way the KGB-lite had such an inconspicuous head office too..
Great series and episode though. I sort of guessed Harry's fate as soon as he arrived in his hood, but that didn't spoil it at all...

Great stuff, but sorry, someone has to say this...
"24 did that ending 2 years ago!" :p

Actually, I thought the way that his booby trap failed was pretty refreshing!
Loved the fact that Lucas behaved like a hardened field op should and shot the guy on the ground too, although surely the runner would have carried more ammo than one single clip!

I thought it looked like they'd just perloined an empty office block for for op. The gear they were working on looked pretty temporary and there weren't enough chairs for them all.

Yeah but the difference is that 24 is a great big pile of steaming horse turds :D
Spooks is just so much better written and acted that it actually makes 24 look a bit embarassing*, especially when you consider the undoubted massive difference in budget. I was literally rocking on the edge of the sofa from tension during most of tonight's ep!
Brilliant stuff as usual!
*consider the very plausible reasons for the nuke in this ep compared to the 24 'Fox terror threat of the week' format. Also, if the writers of 24 had got their hands on this, the Home Secretary would have been one of the Sleepers. And so would his son :D
The mole killed an MI5 agent within seconds of him knowing her cover was blown but she was prepared, a few hours later, to save everyone else by defusing a nuclear bomb which blew her up ? So much better written.

You watched the same show, right?
She explained that she hated the imbalance that had developed between Russia and the USA and that the USA was too powerful.
She thought she was fighting for 'good'.
Killing a single agent doesn't really compare to allowing hundreds of thousands of people to die in a nuclear blast does it? Especially when she had no hope of escaping herself.

Someone she'd been working alongside all year ? Well it obviously convinced those who wanted to be convinced.
didn't realise Jonathan Creek was a Russian hitman.
good good, but not quite as good as last weeks!
Was saying to hubby at the end 'So where is this sting in the tail the press have been talking about?'
Then Jonathan Creek opened the car boot
OMG OMG OMG!

There were better episodes during the series. Loved the gadget that could scan retinas from CCTV footage. :D

Haha!
Really enjoyed last nights episode. Very good ending!
Great stuff, Spooks is probably the best thing the Beeb does, and when it's good it's a rival for the US shows (and I love 24 too)... roll on next year!
Just watched this, what a fantastic eposiode and a setup to the next season! Cannot wait.

The plotline of a main character being carted off by a foreign power for 'questioning' was done in the finale of 24's 5th season, which was arguably the most consistent. However, I'm not getting into that little argument
I'm certainly not disagreeing that this was FANTASTIC. The moment when Lucas shot the Russian Runner? Cold, bloody genius.
Also, as a resident of 'Faversham, Kent', I'd like to pint out I've never encountered a single Russian person in the town, and I highly doubt theres a tactical Nuke buried out on Oare marshes [which is the only place nearby he could have dug that up]
At least, I hope not...
Its also worth noting that it wasnt really 'Faversham, Kent' in the scene setting shot, just a random shot of suburbia... :n0rty:

Oh I SO hope they don't resolve Harry's problem in the first 5 minutes of the next series by having the Russians give him back based on some secret negotiations! But then Spooks doesn't have the 'real time' element to hamper its storytelling I guess.

I don't think we ever heard the guy speak, but given that he was a 'sleeper' agent I doubt he had a Russian accent!
Yeh I do think you're missing the point of sleeper agents. :D

My tongue was in my cheek when i wrote that... ;)

Unfortunately the poor Spooks spin-off has set a realtime element. We know that a nuclear bomb goes off in London in 2012 killing all of MI5's top agents, amongst others, so the series has to be set before that.

I mentioned this in the thread about the spin-off.
I'm REALLY hoping they can just ignore it and forget it was ever made...

I think we can safely ignore it - everyone else did. Still got two episodes of it to watch and I just can't be bothered.

I might be imagining it but I think I read somewhere that there will not be another more series of the spin off show so fort me that never happens in Spooks world.

Turn up in hood - then stand at the very large windows looking out over London.
I only discovered Spooks at episode 6 of this season. Totally hooked and now looking foward to bumper DVD series haul for Christmas!

Loved Harry's "tie kill" followed by him walking off and putting the tie back on. Consummate professional! :notworthy

I assume you mean Series 1 and the
Fryer
incident? :)
Finally managed to get hold of all series and have started watching them from series 1.
Only started watching a couple of series a go so got plenty to get through.
Any thought, which is the best series etc?

That image is the worst thing I have ever seen on a TV show and will stay with me forever :gag:

S3 is a touch under-par, but still good. The plotlines got a lot more ambitious from S4 onwards.
As we're approaching the Christmas TV drought, I might well start watching from S1 again :)
