Don't want to hijack the other thread similar to this so here we go.

Plasma vs LCD I know. Always fancied LCD over plasma (lower power and it just seems it should be more precise!) but worried that with most viewing being Sky SD (via HD box) the LCD won't be as good as it could be. Also watch a lot of football/foreign channels on a 2nd satellite box with wide ranging pic quality (although hopefully this will be on an HD upscaling box also in the near future)

Had a look at them both in Currys but hard to tell as not side by side, HD content and usual shop setups.

Sitting around 10-12 feet away. My dad has the Panasonic so can have a play over xmas but I'm still not really comparing.

Can anyone convince me to get the cheaper (and fancied) LCD or another LCD entirely of course.

I'm going to hijack your thread ;) That Toshiba was one of the ones I was considering earlier on. I think i've just been swayed towards getting one of the Panasonics Plasmas, as I haven't heard a single negative comment about them. For me, Plasmas also have a warmer, more natural appearance - I have a 32inch Tosh in my room and it's been great but it does lack a certain warmth to it.

I also looked at that Tosh in Dixons the other day - the viewing angle wasn't so great on it which put me off. It was next to a Samsung LCD screen and the Samsung looked MUCH better in terms of viewing angle from any position. Not that i'm saying the Samsung is better overall, but for me the viewing angle is important. Anyway, I still can't decide on my one.... arrgghh! Good luck with your decision
