Argos are selling the NEW Bosch Tassimo Brewing machine for <s>£59.99</s> £48.94 at the moment, (seems to be about £90 most other places).

Bosch Tassimo Brewing Machine - £48.94 at Argos (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=28&url=http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&catalogId=1500001151&langId=-1&searchTerms=tassimo&Submit=GO+%3E)

Bosch Tassimo Brewing Machine - £48.94 at Comet (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=37&url=http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/454087/BOSCH-TAS4011-GB)

Takes the same Tassimo beverage pods as the old Tassimo machine (which was made by Braun) but the new model has had a complete makeover.

Comes in 3 colours - Black, Silver and a very sexy looking red.

I know there are mixed view about the Tassimo compared to other coffee makes, but I love the coffee it makes, (particularly the Carte Noir Crema Intenso).

Most supermarkets sell 4 or 5 varieties of coffee for it plus hot chocolate and tea. The online shop (www.tassimo.co.uk (http://www.tassimo.co.uk)) sells more than 20 varieties of coffee, plus teas and other beverages.

The coffee ones don't anyway, the machine makes black coffee and you add your own milk and sugar (apart from the cappuccino which come with frothy milk pods).

Not that regularly - there's a cleaning disk, just shove it in, hit the button, done.

Occasionally worth giving it a wipe.

No they don't come with any discs - £25 worth should keep you going for a while, but it might be worth picking up a couple of packs at your local supermarket to get you started.

Placed my order from Tassimo shop on 3rd Dec and it arrived today.

Now which one shall I start with :)

I went, considered and then in a move reatively unknown from me, didn't bother. I couldn't work out why I would pay £44 in order to buy a machine that allows me to pay far more for my coffee than I pay at the moment.

That's pretty much my logic too. I'm like you in that when I have convinced myself I need something I still buy it even though I don't, but this one had me switch off instantly as I thought a bit further on down the line when the novelty wears off and I am spending £10 a week plus on pods.

It all depends on how much you like coffee. I'm a coffee snob and won't touch instant. If you're happy with instant coffee I don't imagine one of these machines would be value for money.

I just picked up a pack of Kenco Medium Roast pods to give it a test drive (while waiting for my Starbucks pods to arrive).

Bit strong for me. I like a milder flavour, but these were the mildest ones in Sainsburys.

But is it supposed to be this noisey? Kinda like a rattling noise inside?

Which ones dont fit?! it's a standard system , it hasn't changed. Get in touch with Tassimo - there was a slight design change on the bit that takes the discs, they sent me a new one a couple of years ago FOC.

Got one from Comet for £44.05 - thanks to nwftech for the link (and deanos for the 10% off)

My wife did go mad though, I've got a Senseo and a Dolce Gusto sitting in the cupboard, but I have finally found the right machine for me. As good as the Dolce Gusto looked, I didn't actually like the taste of the coffee, which is kind of a big downside really, and you can't get any other variety. To be fair to the Senseo, it was quite good at normal coffee, but nothing great.

The Tassimo is great though, I always looked at it when it was the big Braun one at around the £100 mark, but finding the newer smaller Bosch one at £44 was too tempting.

Just had an espresso followed by a cappuccino and both of them were really tasty - I've finally found a machine that suits me!

Just ordered the Starbucks discs and the Milka ones for the missus, looking forward to trying them out. Looks like this might get quite costly though considering how many discs you have to use to make up a normal mug. Why do all these machines assume everyone wants a tiny cup of coffee?! (although the cost thing is the obvious answer)

Even if you only use it for when guests come round, this is a no brainer for £44

I meant how it looked as a potentially good coffee machine, not its design.

how many pods do you have to use for say the equivalent of a starbucks tall cappacino? (ie the smallest one)

Not sure how much that is (only get Ventis), but the cappuccino makes 200ml of it and that involves putting in one milk disc and one espresso disc (so 4 discs for the mugs I use).

Note as well that the milk discs contain sugar so if you don't like that the only thing you can have is the normal coffees and espressos (and the teas etc).

Yep that's right. If you look at the picture at the top of that link it shows the espresso disc and the milk disk behind it, you get 8 of each. It works out cheaper than buying the espresso and milk discs on their own, although the good thing about doing that instead would be that if you don't like the taste of the kenco one you could in theory just buy a different version of the espresso and use a milk disc to make your own cappuccino.

You can of course add a milk disc to any drink to make a foam top - might try that ontop of a normal coffee tomorrow as I think I best leave it for today, had too much caffeine now

Interesting to see the nutritional information of the cappuccino there, even though it contains sugar it only works out as 32 cals per cup which is not too bad really. I did notice that it tastes only slightly sweetened to me, and not overly so.

Yeah the offer is over at Comet. They wouldn't price match at Argos because the woman the guy phoned said they are selling them for 89.99. They are 99.99 in the catalogue but at the till reduce to 48. I tried to explain this, but Comet didn't wanna know.

Went into Currys next door explained the same story and they did it without even phoning Argos or needing a printout. My advice is to get Currys to price match it, they seem much more willing to accept the business.

I got the voucher to use instore but no online discount

..... I am currently in coffee/Milka heaven

The Milka is a really nice chocolate, I prefer it to the Suchard one. I have completely ditched using any of the milk pods now though, I really have grown to dislike that chemical type taste that they give. Instead I just put some fresh milk in a jug in the microwave and then use one of those hand held aerolatte frothers. Add a drop of that type of milk to the chocolate Milka pod and you get an amazing drink (same goes for any of the espressos as well to make a cappuccino or latte). It's slightly more hassle than just using two pods, but it only takes me about 60 seconds to do the whole thing.

Did you show them anything, or did they do it on your word?

Would anyone be prepared to scan an anonymised copy of their Currys receipt for me? Could really do with it.

Did it on my word. Asked me a few basic questions, and just went with it.

Email sent by the way.

Good luck with it.

Where are these vouchers that you speak of?

Nothing in the Tassimo box of coffee that arrived this weekend, unless I've chucked them out by mistake...

A £3 Tassimo shop discount code was emailed to me when I registered the machine and the other was a free pack coupon that was sent in the post that you wave at the checkout operator.

I didn't get any code e-mailed to me. Just a registration completion link.

That would be 3 quid towards the postage on another batch of Starbucks pods :D

Got this this morning.

My girlf bought me one pack of every type which I'm slowly working my way through. I'll be totally wired in a few hours.

First impressions are fantastic. Very impressed. Quick and clean - and everything has tasted excellent so far.

I've just used my instore 'paper' voucher on a pack of 'New' Latte Macchato (16 creamer pods and 8 Espresso pods).

You can use the voucher up to the value of 3.99. Sainsburys stock the above pods for 4.98 but Asda are selling them for 2.79. I checked my receipt and 3.99 was deducted (mnftrs coupo, it says).

So I got my sprouts for free

"Latte for nothin' and Sprouts for free..."

Purchased some of these from my local Asda Walmart Superstore, Minworth (West Midlands). Not sure if all Asda's stock them. They were priced £2.97 in Asda, online they are £1.99, but you have to factor in postage.
