Not much difference? R2 doesn't seem to have DTS, whereas R4 and R1 have. I've preordered the R4 DVD from Devoted for less than £12 inc.

I heard that the R2 disk does have the DTS track and it has been advertised by many uk retailers that it does.

Looking at a few places now, it does say it has DTS. This wasn't a confirmed feature when I last looked. :)

I reckon the R4 disc is the one to get since it's cheaper than most places at less than £12 inc delivery from Devoted, and has all the same features.

It's not the best film ever (by a long shot) but the DTS track is very good.

There is the other option of grabbing it for about £12 off the Forums. The R1 was going for about £12/13 before the R2/R4 came out, so the price will definitely drop now that there are three different regions floating around.

You could always see if theres something else in the chart that you want to buy, as woolworths are currently doing buy 2 chart DVDs and get £5.00 off. This shoud bring it slighty closer to R4 prices.;)

It is definitely DTS.

I am also convinced that the disk I bought from Woolies is a R1 disk, or a DUal region disc.

I had a region 1 DVD in the player, and put in TFATF, fully expecting it to ask me to change region - but it didn't...

Anyone else had this?

Although possible, it is highly unklikely. R1 is NTSC and R2/R4 (these are dual encoded) are PAL.

Having said that Japan is R2 and NTSC so it could be (so they can use the same disc).

Couldn't your machine be auto multiregion?

As said above I would go for the R4 purely because it is the cheapest. As for the best IMO R1/R2/R4 are the same.

Except of course do you prefer PAL or NTSC (both have pro's can con's)?
