View Full Version : How many mobile phones do you have?
I was hunting through draws and I found some old mobiles collecting dust.
1: Phillips/Virgin mobile c.1999, this was my first mobile and I was trying not to get one at all really. This was the best PAYG deal I could find.
2: Orange (HTC) C500 smartphone. c2002(?) This is still my main phone (coz it rocks!), nice big colour display, mp3/wma ringtones, video playback, photo/video recording, mountains of apps and syncs with outlook for calenders (to remind me of things) and email. I guess there are way better camera phones out now and ones with flashy keypads or touchscreens but I don't really NEED those.
3: Nokia 3210. c2004. My mums old phone, she didn't want it, I was addicted to snake, so I adopted it.
4: Nokia 1100 c2005 The battery was going in the 3210 and I was looking for a replacement when I found it'd be just the same if I bought a 1100 for £30 (weeks before the price plummeted!). I liked the idea of having impossibly long battery life and a silicone keypad to prevent any nasty phone/toilet related deaths. Battery on the way out though...
5:Samsung E800. 2008. My mum had given me one of her other phones (she goes through them quickly as you can see) which I didn't want and only used because it had an alarm that would work even if the phone was off (!). So she gave me this instead since it had the same function. Would probably be useful if I had the cable for it.
Can anyone beat having 5 mobiles?

I think so, although I have no idea where they are...
Nokia N95, 6630 something, N70, Something shaped like a tear drop (7600), the one with snake (6110), the other one with snake that was thinner (3210), the handbag one (8310) and a Motorola A1000 touch screen thing.
And a N-Gage.
But only one gets used.
This site http://www.gsmarena.com/ helped with identifying them.

Lots here too:
Nokia 5110, Nokia 3110, Nokia 3330, Nokia 5210, Samsung E720, Nokia N-Gage, Motorola V8 Luxury Edition, Samsung D900 (x2), Sony Ericsson K800i, Sony Ericsson K800i Bond Edition.
The current ones I use:
Apple iPhone 3G, Nokia E71, Sony Ericsson C902 Bond Edition.
Again like Rubber Chicken, I work in the industry, so just accumilate these things. I really should recycle them. I have sold/recycled an insane amount of phones outside this list also.
Just one for me - a Nokia 3210 which to be honest I don't know what I have done with it.
Shall I move it to the bargain forum then?
It'd probably get a more general audience there than here at least.

So you don't use a mobile Alan?

Using that logic, we may as well do away with all the forums and just have one thread for everything.
I have 2 phones. An iPhone and a Nokia something or other for my company phone. I've owned Sony Mars Bars, Rabbit phones, Bricks the lot.
I don't know what the fascination is with them though. All the texting, features and other ******** is beyond me as I rarely use any of this crap. Being able to dial a number is pretty much all that is needed.
I still think they are one of the worst inventions in recent times, if only for the pavement jaywalkers who are so fixated on their mobile they are oblivious to other pedestrians and road users. Whilst I see them as a necessary evil, you can't escape nobody at all now. Girls on the treadmill at the gym texting away being one of the saddest reasons.

Nah, i was in the pub at the weekend and there were 4 people at the table next to us and they were all texting simultaneoulsy. No chat for about 5 mins. Definition of sad.
WTF texts on a treadmill? They're just asking for trouble, I'd be surprised the staff didn't ask them to stop, it's against the rules to have a phone in the one I go to, at least in the changing room.

I was just thinking of a forum for general chat would suffice. I was hoping to get a response from people who don't give a flying nun about mobiles usually. You'd expect people in a mobile forum to have more phones than usual. I wouldn't mind but there wasn't even a "moving" link on the index, I've discovered some good threads that way.
I just got a Nokia 1650 and used my 3210 in part-exchange. Cost me £10 in total but I got £10 worth of airtime, so essentially the phone was free
Well simple really always have a spare and the rest go to mopay and I get a nice amount of M&S vouchers instead of them sitting in a desk somewhere.

4
2 gathering dust, 2 in use.
I use one as my main phone, the other is my 'pub phone', this phone is the one I use when I go out to the pub (no kidding), the only person who has the number is my wife, its also on PAYG so if I lose it, I don't care too much.

I have a Nokia 6220 classic which my personal phone, a 6120 which is a work phone, a SE K700i which is on Orange PAYG for orange wednesdays only. I have another 6120 gathering dust, my wife uses her SE K700i and has a brand new sealed 6220 classic somewhere in the house! Obviosuly according to the Met Police advert a few months back I am terrorist for having more than one usable phone!!
