I take it you have pressed 'Play' on the remote control???
Sounds daft but I know my parents have put them in the player expecting them to autoplay like DVD's and just saw VCD and sat there waiting for something to happen...
Ok..have you got some DVD playback software installed on your PC, or try opening the .DAT files in the MPEGAV directory with windows media player.
You could try playing it back in there and see if it works ok. It could be the disk/file is stuffed...

I have a 530 and it has played vcds no probs, even home made ones that I was convinced were going to be coasters :cool:
Could be that they are svcds, but I thought that they were supported by this player too. :confused:
Will have a root around to see if I have any svcds that I have knocking around and let you know how I get on.

SVCDs are definetly supported by the 530
Could be that the VCDs are not of a VCD Compliance that the 530 can read
who knows :(
