I'm also in the same boat mate.

I have taken my brothers Oakley e-wires into numerous opticians and been given answers from can't do it to been quoted ridiculous prices.

Try speaking to Oakley UK.

Alternatively try geared-up.co.uk, they are a good supplier.

The US web site definitely indicates that it is possible, it may have a list of suppliers.

My mate got some from a high street retailer I think it was SpecSavers if not definately a national chain not cheap but look damn cool.

If you live in Hull and want some then it's opposite Superdrug in the city centre.

That's because to use the official Oakley lenses they have to be sent to the states and specifically made for your prescription. It's not like Vision Expres where they can just pick out a clear lens and put a couple of fancy coatings on it ! ;)

Obviously not all opticians that sell Oakley frames are official Oakley dealers, so not all of them will have the facility to send them away.

I would guess that the quotes are normally a couple of hundred quid (assuming that the frames are owned already and they're non-complex lenses) ?

One of my oakley arms fell off 6 months after getting them so I went into Optica in town and they gave me a pre paid Oakley box to send them to them and they fixed them and sent them back for free.

Excellent Service.

I already knew that mate. I was trying to get quotes to just put in some normal lenses in, not Oakley ones.

Anyway just been over to the Oakley site and this page shows all Oakley prescription dealers...click here (http://oakley.com/product/prescription/) for enlightenment. Makes me wonder why I didn't do this in the first place:D

OK, OK !
This was not specifically said, so having been round to a few opticians myself just to see how much it cost to get 'official' ones though I'd try to explain the situation. If you had said that you were looking for any old lenses then I wouldn't have said that !

Anyway, hopefully you have the info you need now ! :)

Not a problem ! :D
Just trying to point out that, OK, I offered some information that you were not looking for, but it helps if you make the question more specific sometimes. :)

Out of curiosity's sake, how much were you nbeing quoted for for 'normal' lenses ?
