View Full Version : Best unintentionally funny line?
I was watching Ultraviolet the other night, and the Chief was talking about how the vampires have performed mass culls of the human race before to eliminate disease - I think his exact words were:
"They've done it before - the Great Fire of London!"
delivered in a really dramatic, deadpan manner presumably meant to be portentious and shocking. Needless to say, we had to pause the DVD because we were laughing so much.
Are there any other quotes out there to rival such poor scriptwriting?

Kurt Russell in Backdraft - "That's my brother, goddam it!"
every line in the matrix:D
All of Armageddon (except Steve Buscemi's lines which are meant to be funny), but particularly:
"Get off. The nuclear. Warhead."
But my fave is from Independence Day:
"I'm a combat pilot, Tom. I belong in the air."

The loudest I ever laughed was at X-Men, when Anna Paquin runs away from the school and Patrick Stewart goes inside that enormous shiny machine to find her telepathically. After much psychic searching, he comes out and solemnly intones, "She's at the train station".
Like, DUH!
Kiss of the Dragon:
"Mens toilets. Now"

LOTR- "No one tosses a dwarf":D

Probably should be in a different thread of it's own, but I saw a print of Chinese Ghost Story which had (hopefully) incredibly innacurate subtitling. The line which will probably stick in my mind forever would have to be "The bearded gay killed your sister. Quick let's report!"

In POTAS (2001) early on the commander delivers this classic line to the Mark 'Dirk Diggler' Wahlberg character:
"Prepare your monkey for action!"

"I can't believe this macho ********!" Another classic from the great Commando.
The entire *******ised St Crispian days speech from the gleefully cheesy Independence Day.
