Anyone have either of these sets ? If so feel free to post your opinions on it here. I've got an engineer coming around tommorow to try and fix my 43VJ13P. If he can't fix it I'll be entitled to my money back or a replacement and I'm thinking the 50" might be the way to go. Any opinions on the set welcome :D

Thanks.

Alright mate. Sorry to hear about the Tosh. I've only just got my refund sorted for the 43vj I bought from Currys on Boxing Day so i'm in a similar situation.

I've looked at the 50" version but as the set is going in my bedroom (dlp projector going downstairs :) ), I thought it was a little large. I sit about 9 or 10 feet away and the 43 is a lovely size with a fine quality picture. I'm a little worried that poor source material will look particularly bad sitting close to a greatly blown-up image. Do you sit very close to the tv?
Probably the most important factor in the purchase.

Also, the 50" seems to be quite a bit larger cabinet-wise, 4" deeper, 5" wider and 50% heavier, so make sure you have the room. Depth in particular is important as the 43vj fits nice and tight to the wall in a way a 36"crt never will.

On the other hand, the 50PH18 has a 100hz processor (if you like that) and component inputs.

Biggest bonus for me is the huge cost saving. tvandvideodirect sell the 43 for £1060 delivered. The 50pj is £700 more expensive and the 50ph £900 more. At £300-400 more expensive, I may have considered one anyway but £700-900 more for an extra 7" just doesn't seem worth it (although my girlfriend just laughed as I wrote that last bit. No pleasing some people is there? :D )

Can't go wrong either way.
