I'm not sure if this is nationwide, but until the close of play on Saturday 15th November WH Smith at The Mall, Cribbs Causeway near Bristol have 20% off everything in store with a voucher that is available in store.

I was sceptical, so for "research purposes" asked the wife to pick me up an 80GB PS3 with Midnight Club LA Package - went through at a price of £239.99 :D - I know that normally these deals are restricted to excludes consoles etc, so don't know if we got lucky or if consoles are intended to be part of the promotion.

Like I said, not sure if it is nationwide, there doesn't appear to be any mention on the WHSmith (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=299) web site.

I got a leaflet in the post, think inside my NME, that's got a 20% offer on from 24th November til 31st. Coupled with the loyalty card vouchers I'm going to be able to get everyone a few extra presents this year.

I now have a copy of the voucher here:

20% off everything when you spend £20 or more
Offer valid until Sunday 16th November.
Excludes stamps, tobacco, gift vouchers, phone cards, e-gift cards, book tokens, theatre tokens & National Lottery Tickets.

Valid in: Bath, Cheltenham, Cribbs Causeway, Exeter, Fosse Park, Gateshead Metro, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Oxford and Watford Harlequin.

Looks like consoles etc are supposed to be included, not sure if they will be handing out these vouchers in all mentioned stores - photocopies are apparently not acceptable.

Watford's in London isn't it?

Maybe it's a trial for us country bumpkins that they'll do elsewhere if it's successful?

This will be available online as well between these two dates.

I believe that the leaflet given in magazines has more restrictions in terms of what can be bought (although I could be wrong)...

Thanks very much redcup! I just grabbed a load of books & a Wii (with Samba Di Amigo as that's the WHSmith bundle) from Exeter :)

EDIT: deal from Monday in some stores is more restrictive! Consoles are excluded entirely!
20% off books and stantionary
10% off PC stuff, Sat Nav, Mobile Phones, DVDs, CDs & Games

I haven't got the leaflet to hand but will post back in here when I see it. I believe the online offer is similar to the 10%/20% off promotion they ran a few weeks ago.

Apparently Brent Cross have £10 off for every £30 you spend - i.e. 33% off.

Could be worth a call before you go down though - and making sure your credit card can take the strain of a PS3 and Wii and...

The online promotion which is going to run between Monday 24 November to Sunday 30 November is the same as was posted here with regards to what discounts are available against what items.

I seriously wonder how long WHS will be arround - every other week they give away discount coupons. For a bookseller their level of literacy is ****poor: the discount card claims you get "an extra 20% off" when they mean "20% off".

But they seldom have anything worth buying now as half their stores incorporate the Post Office (the only reason they will still be around in 5 years' time probably).

People love discount coupons so I think they will be around for a while yet. They have stopped the clubcard scheme (although you have February to get rid of any points) which is why they are running more and more of these discount promotions.

The £10 off every £30 is definitely running in Lakeside-Thurrock. They give you a leaflet in store.
Just picked up a Wii, 2 x DS lites Brain Training packs and a couple of Blu-Rays for £300.

Anyone know what kind of offers they have on PS3/DS Lites at the moment?

The nationwide 20% off week from the 24th doesn't include games consoles. Does anyone have anymore information on these store specific sales and if there are going to be anymore next week?

Thanks for the heads up on this.

I used the last one to pre-order loads of graphic novels for a fraction of the price.

There is also a coupon in today's Sun for 20% off everything but exclusions are ..."PC software and hardware...", no mention of console games or consoles, so I assume they are included
