Anyone just see it on Sky Cinema? If not it's repeated tonight at 20:15. A couple of similarities to the remake. But a great car chase at the end.
What did others think?

Far better than the god awful re-make.

the original is much better. I think the whole 70's scene suited the subject matter much better :)

I've been dying to see the original again since I was a kid. Seem to remember the end chase (30 odd mins) was brill. Hope it hasn't dated as much as Death Race 2000 :(

Typically the only place it seems to be shown is on a channel I can't get with ITV Digital. ******. Oh well, just ordered the R1 DVD from Amazon.com. Can't be worse than the remake. Utter *****. Even that Jolie bird looked real awful as an unnatural blonde, so there wasn't even some decent totty to keep me to attention.

I think Pumpkin will give that Jolie bird a run for her money ;)

Damn! I meant to watch or tape that, but bloody forgot. Sod it!

I remember, many years ago when I was at middle school, as an end of term treat each year the whole school would get shown a film in the main hall. One year it was Bugsy Malone (great!) but another year it was the original of Gone In 60 Seconds.

To say the crowd went wild is an understatement! The Head had to get up and stop the film at one point because all these 11 year olds were applauding and stamping their feet :D

So I wouldn't mind seeing it again if just for nostalgic reasons as that was all of 20 odd years ago now  :)
