This had got to be the finest kids film ever made. Why hasn't it been released on dvd yet? (Although I already own it on video and its a pretty dire print!)

The Magic Roundabout in general is a glaring omission in the children's DVDs out there. It would be nice if they (and Dougal And The Blue Cat) could be released with the original French soundtrack - and English subtitles - as well as the familar Eric Thompson stories.

The Cartoon Network was showing it last year so they may repeat it, I found the film down right freaky I think it showed the darker side of the Magic Roundabout..

That cat is evil I tell you EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Buxton the cat wasn't evil, just misguided and somewhat lonely.

Now the Blue Voice on the other hand.... pure evil!

I'm resurrecting this seeing as two years on and still no word of when The Magic Roundabout or Dougal And The Blue Cat will be released on DVD. Neither are available in France either - is there a rights issue or something? Anyone know anything?

Spooky, I was in the food court of my local shopping centre yesterday and they were showing this on the tv they have in the kiddies' seating area, no wonder it was empty.

Perhaps the new CGI Roundabout film will cause a DVD release of Blue Cat?

DAMN! I've lost 2 copies of this in the past 2 years - fetching £20 on Amazon these days.

I have searched, but still no news of a DVD release of this film. I felt sure it would re-appear sometime soon to cash in with the new movie.

The original VHS was deleted in September '04 according to one site ( Affiliated Link (http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=17328&a=60823&g=109565&url=http://www.sendit.com/video/item/7000000053229) ) which I hope bodes well for a nice sparkling DVD early next year.

Jeez, I love that film! I have a queue of people I promised to show it to (come to think of it, I bet both my copies are with people I lent it to who have long forgotten how they came to own it!)

The song and dance routines were somewhat iffy and twee, I prefer the tv series with the satirical references to events of the day though unfortunately I only have videos 1,2 and 4. Heres hoping they release the whole lot as a set and not just selected highlights
