Any ideas about the best way to connect an ipod to a Ford Focus Zetec53 plate, it possibly has the 6000CD (factory fitted) cd/radio in it.
I'm asking this on behalf of a mate,. so any advice would be very much appreciated!
Cheers
G
Not sure if it applies as I have an 05, but there is a 3.5mm audio jack in the glove box and can just plug mine in that and play through the aux function on the stereo. Not the same as having ipod control on the stereo, but its a much cheaper option.

Thankyou....I have passed your reply on, and he will check to see if he has the audio jack!
My Focus Ghia 04 has the 6006e multichanger and doesn't have the audio jack in the gloce compartment. If it's one of those, then an RF transmitter is the only hope I believe.

Do the radio(s) in question have an 'Aux' button on the front? If they have a 'Aux' button but no actual socket then you can by the cable and socket relativly cheaply and fit it yourself, it just needs to be plugged in to the back of the radio and off you go - for some crazy reason not all of the vehicles that initally had these model radios fitted had the aux socket installed.
If it's one of the earlier radios with no 'aux' button but supports the CD changer then you can buy one of two kits made by a company called Connects 2. I have just bought a 52 plate Fiesta for getting to and from work and this has the 'RDS 6000' head-hunt fitted. I've just bought a connects 2 box that plugs in to the CD changer socket and mimics an auxilary socket. There is another box which is double the price which plugs in to the same socket and also gives you some basic control over the iPod (shuffle through the current playlist but you can't change playlists I believe) but I decided it wasn't worth the extra money for my needs.
