Did I do the right thing?
All the reviews etc seem to indicate its a decent 1080p camera and Amazon.co.uk (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=8) have it now for £367 with free delivery and free 8gb memory card.
It is for general none skilled use, thats will last a good few years.
Was this a good choice?
I got one from the States while I was over there in the last 2 weeks.
Pretty decent camera and got it for a really cheap price.
Feels really good in my hand, and image is quality is excellent.
How much was it in the US?
bought one about 2 weeks ago (wish amazon still did there 30 days price guarantee :( )
quality piece of kit. some reviews are suspect of indoor filiming and it definately isn't as sharp as outdoor filming but it still looks nice on my samsung 37" LCD.
Battery life is around 70 minutes on the supplied battery but i got a 3rd battery battery (2640mAh) for £20. Only downside is that it doesn't have a battery indicator.
The Pre record feature is really helpful and i hope to put it to good use this sunday at Wembley
If you need any advice on video editing etc. LMK.
Posted in Brad's Cheap HD Camcorder thread, but does anyone have any clips captured with the SD9 they can upload ?

TBH those vids don't do it justice. (needs media player classic and a suitable computer)

The lower light filming on the SD9 is pants. Can anyone suggest the settings I could use to perhaps improving things at all?
I have uploaded a video from my recent trip to the states.
This one was taken in the grand canyon.
Shot with the Panasonic SD9,

I think its rather poor myself. Returning it.

Well, I got it for £260 so for that price think it's well worth it.
I wouldn't pay UK prices for it though.

IMO £367 for a HD cam that unless you get a bright day outside to use, you get SD quality pictures from, is rather poor.
At almost 33% less, i'd be more tempted to keep, but at almost £400 its really not good enough.
I wouldn't pay close to £400 but as I said for £260 it's better than similar price bracket cameras.
I bought a Sanyo Xacti HD Camcorder previous to the Panasonic and returned it after a 2 days as the video quality was rubbish.
You might want to try the Sony TS3 or the Canon's(bearing in mind that the Canon's are not very portable but do have the best pic quality) but are more expensive.
