View Full Version : The Original "Winnie the Pooh" cartoon
Has this ever been released on DVD in either R1 or R2 ? I'm after the 1960's original which I found on one of my oldest videos recorded from ITV back in the early 80's. Enchanting stuff.
It was available in R1 for some time but has dissappeared - it contained the original three stores (Blustery day, the Honey tree and another I can't remember the name of).
However, it looks as if a new edition with more features is on the way, according to Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005T7HD/qid=1012669870/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_71_1/103-9010769-9441467). It's called The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (25th Anniversary Edition) (1977) which sounds like the one. If it is, then this will be the best WtP DVD to get...
(Mods: can you forumify this link - I tried but failed miserably! I think we need a sticky on how to do this...)

Seeing as the people that own the 'Winnie the Pooh' copyright are about to sue Disney for a few hundred million (!) from lost royalties over the last 30 years they might be a shortage of Winnie the Pooh DVD' s soon.
Thanks for the replies, looks like this is the one ! It's on play247.com at £14.99 for release in May. All cleaned up and remastered.
I'm pretty sure it's 1967, not 1977 and the 3rd installment is "Winnie The Pooh & Tigger Too".
The 'Many Adventures of...' is a collection of the first three films. The first one is the 'classic' and was made in 1968, the others aren't too bad either. They were made later, and that is where the 1977 comes in. But, it definitely has the one i'm after for my one year old son (and me) ! Thanks again.
