I like this show but the daughter asking for money for charities etc and spending the money was wearing abit thin for two series. Lets hope it is not going to continue.

Anyway it is now on BBC1 sometime in November. When i get the date will post them.

Yeah the daughter asking for cash bit was slightly tiresome but didn't detract from a great show, looking forward to this

Looking forward to this. Hope it still has Raquel Cassidy as the wife in it.

Bit late but this was back on last night.

Will probably be repeated and is on the iPlayer.

Haven't watched this, but have always been a fan of Jack Dee. I love Curb Your Enthusiasm so could this be described as a british equivalent? In terms of humour, I know Jack doesn't play himself per se.

I brilliant opener to a brilliant series. Very funny. Raquel Cassidy is a dream and plays being drunk very well.

But I think Anna Crilly as Magda is my favourite.

Fine start to the new series, Raquel Cassidy has to be the sexiest drunk I've seen :luv:

Its a bit like Curb in that Jack Dee gets himself into some bad situations, but there's never the feeling like his world could come crashing down at any moment like with CYE.

I watched this weeks LB on iPlayer just now - pretty funny.

Have just looked at all three series back to back. I don't care if the show is derivative: it's the best written comedy I've seen in yonks, and throws up extra rewards if you look at all the episodes at once. The other boxed set I looked at (or tried to look at) over the weekend was Extras. The contrast in writing when compared to the Jack Dee is striking. Ricky Gervais: what a one-trick pony. I found the episodes I could manage to sit through (not many) excruciating.

Loved this season, definitely the UK answer to Curb Your Enthusiasm. Every character is spot on. Nice to see Rick thaw a little in the Christmas episode (with the inevitable backfire). This, Outnumbered, and Top Gear are the only British programmes I watch now apart from sports. All we need to do is convince the producers to make 12 episode series.

All we need to do is convince the producers to make 12 episode series.I go with the Fawlty Towers policy of less is more. If Dee and his chums can keep up this kind of quality, I'll settle for 6/7/8 a year.

Really enjoyed this series. Improvement on S2. Nice to see the daughter being a bit less one dimensional.

Wikipedia says:

"A third series began airing on 13 November 2008. A fourth series is in production and is due to air in late 2010."

Does anyone know if/when this is going to air? I love this show.

Hmm, unfortunately I think it's jumped the shark if last night's episode is anything to go by.

It was funny until the toilet humour of the last five minutes

A superb 4th series I think, will miss it.

I dearly hope it returns, with the exception of Extras the only British made comedy of the last 5 years worth a light.

Series 4 seriously jumped the shark, way to many 'sit-com' moments, Jack's character changed from grumpy but likeable to a pretty unpleasant person this series, very disappointing.

well I liked it, esp the last two though I did think it was a shame they ended the last with him.....

punching the mother

would have been better to end it without that imo.

A very hit-n-miss 4th series, after a superb 3rd series.

The first episode (Pig) was awful.

The next two (the shopping channel) were superb!

Then an average one, followed by an okay-ish attempt to do something different with the prison one.

The last episode I thought was excellent, it all came full circle for Rick, (back in the big time - for about an hour or two - then back to having no-work prospects!), a nice way to end. NO more though please.

...with the exception of Extras the only British made comedy of the last 5 years worth a light.
Er, clearly you've not seen 'The Thick Of It'?
