Can anyone recommend a decent online SLR camera supplier?

I'm looking for a good price on a Nikon F65.

Cheers all,

Billy :)

Mags like amateur photographer have loads of dealers in the back (on and offline). My dad recently got an f80 from jessops who price matched everything and gave a decent warranty aswell. A couple of places with good prices were hard to get hold of and also didn't offer the warranty service that jessops does.

www.jessops.co.uk have all their prices etc and a list of their stores.

Have a look at www.unbeatable.co.uk

Jessops are definitely overpriced, but they do price-match.

Back in August 2001 I was after a Canon EOS30 and the 28-105 USMII and 75-300 USMIII lenses.

I managed to get Jessops to price match another store which I found doing a special on the EOS 30E and got it for £380 (Jessops normal price last year was £450).

They price matched the 25-105USMII lense for £199 (their normal price last year was £250)

They price matched the 75-300USMIII lense for £139 (their normal price last year was £170)

The price matches do not all have to be with the same store either.

So hunt around and find the best prices, then find a Jessops that is within the area of the said store and get them to price-match.

I only popped into Jessops to check out the camera (I didn't know that they pricematched), but when the shop manager realised that I was going to buy elsewhere he said that they pricematched. I used the Ealing (West London) branch.

If you are buying on-line make sure that you do not buy grey import cameras or equipment as some places sell imported goods that are not officially for the EU.

For used stuff try www.keh.com they are in the US but are very used to posting stuff to the UK, I have always got hit for VAT but even then they are much cheaper.

Very good for older high end manual focus equipment.

They are a bit conservative with their quality ratings.
Their poor quality is better than most of the stuff I use.

Many thanks for your help all. This should certainly give me something to be going on with. There's a Jessops just up the road from her so I think I feel a price match coming on. :D

Cheers,

Billy:)
