Blackberry 8120 - would you recommend

Can any Pearl owners give me some feedback please

Basically want a phone to talk and text.
Would use the email feature very infrequently so not worried about the non - qwerty keyboard or slowness of the web.

Am worried about the scroll ball - will it last 18 months?

Is the menu as complicated as everyone says - will I get used to it quickly?

Is the battey life ok?

Any one had any problems with the handsets?

had one for a about 7 months, my first blackberry and thought it was great, trackball will last no probs. the user interface is great. i've just upgraded to the bold with the full keyboard.
had the jawbone 2 paired to mine and had no probs. Battery life of just phoning and texting lasted about 2 days before i wouldnt chance it.

For your needs I would also consider the Nokia E71.

Had mine for a few days now and think it's the bee's knees.

I've had a look at the E71 - its really nice, just a bit too wide for me.

If I decide against the 8120 I will get the E71
