:help: I am in the process of dealing with a complaint with Three with regard to having a limit on their unlimited text pakage. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem with them and how they got on?
Apparently, if a company advertise unlimited texts as part of the package, it must also state that there is a fair use policy or a limit on the unlimited in the body of that advertisment. Three do not state anything other than it is unlimited......so when I got a bill with an extra £92 on it for exceeding the limit of te unlimited texts, I was a bit peeved!
So far, I have contacted the ASA and they cannot deal with certain webite advertsing, they told me to contact my local trading standards! They told me to contact consumer direct :cuckoo:
Ain't it great knowing we have such a clear and robust system to protect us against big companies pulling back street cons........

To be fair, all the 'unlimited' text bundles we sell have a fair use policyof 3000 tetxs and it's the same across the board, some networks have it in the small print while Three usually print it on the contract itself that you signed (if you signed one at all), otherwise they just rely on the sales consultant to mention it while going through the contract details.

Check your contract and terms and conditions, otherwise you won't have much of a leg to stand on. Pretty shocking you ran up such a huge bill though...are you sure it's all on texts? Because £92 would equate to about 920 texts (at 10p a text), so add that to the 3000 and you've sent a lot of texts this month!
Are the texts you're sending all within the UK...to normal mobile numbers? (i.e. not those premium rate chargable text lines?)

To be honest I don't know how they can advertise something as unlimited and have a limit on it, but I think it's there so that companies don't take advantage of the deals by sending mass marketing texts.
