After some testing this weekend I have found you can stream audio and video direct from Rapidshare.com and other sites onto the iPhone.
* Rapidshare will only stream the Apple .MOV format (it must not be encoded with/in h.264). Rapidshare will also stream mp3.
1) Browse to Rapidshare.com or whatever file host you use in Safari and Login.
oops edit:
2) Create an RSS feed with a link to the video as an enclosure of the feed entry.
See: www.CDNOne.com
3) Browse to the RSS feed in Safari. Safari will recognise it is an RSS feed and open it's RSS feed Reader.
Here's a test feed I created earlier:
http://www.cdnone.com/showfeed.php?feedid=Mjg=
4) Click on the link in the post and wait for the video to stream.
It takes a good few seconds before the video starts but it works.
Don't logout of Rapishare you wont need to.
I've used a couple of RSS readers and it's works okay.
I hope you find this useful. :D
