Fuji S9600 Finepix Memory Problem

I've got the aforementioned camera and have a 2gb memory card. When I switch the camera on it says "card not initialized" - any ideas ?? The camera's only been used a couple of times and was okay to start off with. I've put some of my other XD cards into it and the same message comes up ...... :shrug:

Go into menu and setup and on the s8000 the second page shows format, this will format the disk. When you first use it you are using the internal memory.

I dont think there is any internal memory - I would try the format option. Also check you have the memory set to XD and not CF as there are two memory card slots in the camera.
