I have the facility to plug an i-pod into my car stereo which has a lead coming out the glove compartment with an i=pod connector.

The thing is I don;t have an I=pod - what I do have is a Walkman phone with 1000s of tracks on an 8 gig card. My question is how can I attach my phone which is a sony connector to female mini jack? I am sure there must be a way but currently don;t know how?

Any advice greatly appreciated

Grrrr - I have just spoken to a techie person who says that it won't work, because when you plug the ipod in the stereo automatically picks this up, but by plugging anything else in the stereo won't know as the ipod isn't there to send teh appropriate signal - darn and drat.

Is my only option now to use on eof those FM transmitters or any other ideas?

No the car is a normal stereo CD/Radio but with a lead that you can plug an ipod into, what I want to do is use that lead to plug a minijack into.

Is there no way to manuall select the iPod/Aux input? If not I'd be very surprised!

I have gone through the manual and it seems that their is NO manual select, only a choice between radio and CD player. When and ipod is plugged in is selects it automatically and disables the functionality of the ipod completely, so that has to be controlled through the stereo.

Looks like an fm transmitter may be teh only option?
