Blackberry – do I need a special blackberry tariff?

Hi,

I recently got my Farther-in-law a blackberry which was on Vodafone. I got it unlocked as he wants to use it on o2.

He is currently on pay as you go, but I have recommended him to switch to the o2 simplicity tariff, with the bolt on of Unlimted web browsing.

I presumed this would work ok with regards to sending/receiving email, but thinking about it I am worried he will need to on a special Blackberry tariff.

Is this correct or will be able to send/receive on o2 simplicity with unlimited browsing bolt on?

He will not be able to get instant email unless he subsribes to the Blackberry Internet Service. That is added to a contract, so is not available on or a 30 day contract.
