My daughter has trashed her Nokia that we bought her on PAYG last Christmas. She has been on the Orange £10 per month 300 texts deal.

Her Nokia is not working well now, it keeps crashing and the screen is cracked. No criticism of the phone, just its rough treatment!

We were thinking of getting her a contract phone on Orange Dolphin which gives unlimited texts and 100 mins airtime for £15 p/m. And she obviously gets a new phone.

Never having had a contract phone before (other than for work), I have a few questions. The contract is for 24 months. In that time, if the phone gets damaged, or breaks down, would it be replaced by Orange (I guess that it only would if there were a fault with it)?

Would we be able to change phones within that 24 months or stuck with the same model for the 24 months?

If the phone were stolen, is there a spend limit to stop someone racking up a huge bill that we would have to pay?

Anything else we should be considering?

Thanks

Replacement (other than fault) - no - you need Orange Care for that (£6pm I think)
No changing of phones (for free from Orange) - nothing stopping you actually changing the phone if you pay for it as a PAYG or sim free one and just swap the sim over
If stolen there's no limit to what your liability would be

Ok, got the phone now. Went for Dolphin on Orange giving 100 anytime minutes and unlimited texts. Next stupid question:
Does the 100 anytime minutes include calls to mobiles? I can see exclusions on the site in terms of 0800 numbers etc, but it doesn't mention landlinne vs mobilel numbers. I guess that mobile numbers are included then.

Anytime will mean to any other network at anytime its only when you go over the 100mins they charge you a premium to other networks.

They won't charge you a premium when she's gone over the 100 mins, just whatever their standard call rate is.
