Hi, been given the option of either a BB Pearl or Curve. I know the curve's a bit bigger than the pearl, and has a qwerty keyboard, but that's about it.

So, any user experiences of preferably both? Will be using the phone for work, mainly emails on the fly. Any toy/gadgety features will of course be a bonus.

Cheers
Dan

What model of Curve are you being offered? The 8310 has built in GPS, I don't know about the Pearl though.

Curve is way better for e-mail because of the qwerty keyboard and better keys. I'm not a fan of the pearl but if you want just a phone with very occasional e-mail then it fits the bill fine.

The latest curve does have GPS as mentioned. Neither are 3G, you'll need a Bold for that (just out).

I have just swapped from a Pearl to a curve today, not for functionality reasons, just because the dog ate the pearl!
First impressions are that the satnav will be better on the bigger screen and as Kryten mentioned emails should be quicker to write.
Will let you know if anything else comes to light.

The Pearl does have bigger keys though. It's not the "latest" version that has GPS. There are a couple of variants. One has GPS (as sold by T-Mobile et al), one has wi-fi (as sold by Orange et al).

Out of the two I would have the Curve. It isn't that much bigger to carry but the screen makes a big difference in usability. The keyboard makes typing so much quicker, and the battery life doesnt seem to be any worse in normal usage.

I did find typing faster on my Pearl. I also found the Pearl had much better battery life.

the pearl as a qwerty layout its just in whats called sure type.. like t9 but for a qwerty lay... its really quick to type on it....

with the blackberrys there are two models made by rim

with the exception of the bold

all of the phone that end in 20 ie 8320 or 8120, have the wi-fi

and all of those that end in the 10 ie 8110 or 8310 have the gps function

the bold has both...

So do those that end in 30 ;) (certainly in the US)

Roll on contract end so I can get a Bold or Thunder.
