My Motorola v3 is on its last legs so it's time for a new phone, i'm on PAYG and like the Nokia 6300 and the Samsung D900. I can't decide between them, can anyone help me ?
I basically want something thats going to last a while, my v3 has been through the wars for years and still works.
Can get the Nokia for £80 and the Samsung for £70 so not much of a difference in price to sway me.
Have been looking on the net and both seem to get good reviews. I've also had a play around with them and liked them both. Can someone please help me ?

EDIT - Bought the Samsung D900. New problem in post 3

Have had a 6300 since it came out and is still one of the best handsets I've owned. If you don't really need any of the extras most phones come with these days (decent camera, music player with lots of storage, touchscreen gimmickiness) and just want a phone to be a phone then I'd definitely recommend it.

It's very well put together and is the perfect form factor for me. The mainly aluminium casing means it survives light drops and scrapes, and apart from a few minor scratches is still going strong.

Heavy users might like a better battery life, but it's by no means abysmal. The only real thing lacking for me is no 3G for faster web access (only EDGE). Have been looking at possible replacements just because I'm due an upgrade but honestly haven't seen anything to warrant a change yet.

Don't really have any experience of the D900, but have used a few other Samsung models and am not so keen on the user interface or indeed slider form factor but that's just personal preference. These are both quite old models now (Samsung being the oldest of the two), but I guess you know that already.

A couple of others you could look at are the Nokia 6500 Classic or Sony Ericsson w890i, if available. Although being newer are probably more expensive.

Thanks ac

I ended up going for the Samsung, very happy with it so far.

One problem i have is sending picture messages, i wasnt able to send on my old Motorola v3 but wasnt really bothered anyway but now with a better phone it's something i want to use.

I've had the settings for MMS and internet sent to the phone and they seemed to of been installed ok but still no joy, spoke to T Mobile CS who tried again but still couldnt get it to work.

Does anyone have the settings so i can manually go through the phone and check they are correct ?

Thanks.

Alternatively, you can get T-Mobile settings sent and installed automatically on your phone from the relevant manufacturer's website ...
