Hi all,

I've purchased a second hand Blackberry 8310 and am trying to get it setup in the BIS etc.

The one problem is that the previous user has not disabled the account they had setup with it and when I try to register on the Vodafone Blackberry Service page, I keep getting told that the PIN is already in use for the service.

Does anyone know of a way that I can get this disabled? I've left a message for the seller to contact me re: this and Vodafone themselves say they wont do anything due to the Data Protection Act (That old Chestnut).

Has anyone ever been in this predicament before?

ths bis system has nothing to do with voda, the previous user has registered his blackberry and so the pin is active on the blackberry servers, easiest thing to do would be to ask the guy for his username a password so you can log into the bis managment screen on your BB and change the email address's. As if he has a new BB then he would have had to re-register as the new device would have a new pin.. hope this makes sense.. without that info there is not much you can do...

Got that bit done... now I've logged in. I just need to tell the Blackberry to lookup my email account, not theirs lol.

All sorted. After 24 hours and at least 3 of them on the phone with over 10 different people, it's all sorted.

It turns out that when the previous person stopped their Blackberry Tariff, Vodafone saw fit to de-activate the phone from their systems as well.

O2 did that to me with XDA II. Took me a day or two to work/find that out.
