I am completely confused by BT Surftime - I pay BT to surf unlimited and then I pay an ISP again for the privilege?!

Seems pretty damn expensive to get on the net! Roughly £5 to get surftime and roughly £10 for an ISP (dial up) - which is half what NTL want for broadband!!!

So here's my question:
Is anyone out there using a FREE ISP that is compatable with Surftime (evenings + Weekends) or a cheap ISP?? Preferably no cut off time, but not a must.

Any help much appreciated.

i was paying that , the £5 to bt then the £10 to freeserve

so i packed in bt and just paid £12.99 a month to freeserve for 24/7 net (with 2 hour cut off)

Does Surftime cut you off automatically after a certain amount of time? Maxipad seems to indicate it doesn't.

for an extra month I'd pay for that.

Surftime does not cut you off. Its up to the individual ISP you sign up with.
