Bit of a dumb question, but WTF does that remote do (or to be more exact what do people use it for)? Does it only work with the XBox 360 when using the external drive?

I'm using the external drive with a PC (I don't have a 360) and had hope it actually controlled the drive somehow. But it doesn't look like it. I'm wondering if the remote is a WindowsMedia style thing which ain't much use to me as I don't use Windows for video.

For the bin then? Shame as it's a nicely made bit of kit.

Ta.

There's no IR receiver on the HD drive, you'd need to add one to your PC to get some functionality from it.

You use it to control your Xbox360 when using it as a Media Centre / DVD player.

I already had a similar one which came with my Pioneer Xbox Amp so sold mine on Ebay - Think I got £10-£12 for it.
