I decided it was time I got a new laptop. I opted for the Sony Vaio AR51 M (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=2&url=http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/3479660/Sony-Vaio-AR51-M-Core-2-Duo-T7250-2-0GHz-2GB-320GB-17-WXGA+-Blu-Ray-Vista-Home-Premium-Laptop-Notebook/Product.html).

As I already own a PS3, will I be able to change the laptop's Blu-ray playback to region A and therefore finally allow myself access to all Blu-ray releases (apart from Region C, which I think we can all live without)? Would there be any drawbacks to having my laptop set to region A that I'd need to consider? Or... can I just install AnyDVD, or something similar, and have a region-free player which I can hook up to my HDTV and live happily ever after (or at least until Blu-ray goes the way of HD DVD and/or my laptop packs up)?

Thanks in advance for any answers.
