If you are thinking of buying from Bensons World then beware. I can honestly say in four years of purchasing off the net I have never encountered worse customer service. I placed an order on the 3rd December 2001 and it has still not fully arrived. Out of five discs only three have arrived and that was on January 18th.
The claim to have sent other discs and when I phoned them on 6 separate occassions they said "oh it must have got lost in post we will send another". I would not mind they are not exactly the cheapest dvd retailer on planet. Worse still they have taken payment off my card the cheeky b*stards.Avoid these like the plague for they suck big time.

Sorry you've had problems but just to address the balance I've used them three times recently and received my items extremely fast with no problems. Not that this is of any consolation to you of course.

Another vote for BensonsWorld I'm afraid. I have used them one many occasions and found them quicker than Play in most cases! Obviously they aren't as cheap though!

In my few dealings and communications with them over the last year, when it comes to customer service I have to say that Bensons don't hold a candle to either Blackstar or Amazon UK. Near-monosyllabic responses to mail enquiries do not fill me with confidence in a distance-trader, but maybe I've just been spoiled rotten by the other two?

My current beef with Bensons is that, while they will accept a return and refund the item price, they have refused to cover my return postage (quite pricey from here) on what many here have shown they feel to be a defective product (the recent R2 Dr Who and the Daleks set) on the grounds that "no other customer has complained" (so they say) and that "Warners have not issued a recall". How is either circumstance suddenly my problem? I bought this thing in good faith. What did I do wrong??

Blackstar have a simple policy of covering return postage on goods which are either damaged or defective, and on one occasion when a defective item arrived from Amazon UK they said to simply keep it and they'd send another, because they felt the return postage would have been "prohibitive".

Surely the indicator of good customer service is what happens when things don't go exactly right: either they show interest in having further business from you (by fixing the problem) or they show that they couldn't care less (by folding their arms and doing nothing). So much for customer goodwill.

Bensons world have been good to me when ever I've used them.
Their not the quickest supplier by a long shot, but I've never had a problem.

Oooo - back from the dead! Again, I've never had a problem (and so can't comment on their CS, or lack thereof).

I have never had a problem with them. Infact they even put one of my discs on a free am overnight delivery for a birthday present for me!

Most proberly a local postie is pocketing your dvds.

Best to report the missing discs to your local sorting office so that they can investigate.

I've used them many times and I've never had a problem. In fact on one occasion they far exceeded my expectations by replying to emails at 8pm on a bank holiday monday and honouring a discount that had actually finished several days earlier after I pointed out that one page of their site still showed the discount prices.

See no need to worry. It could be worse you could be waiting from something from dvdsoon then even getting a reply from an email can take weeks!

I think at times threads like this dont do much good for anybodys confidence. Because very few people ever start a thread that says how good a company is you could be forgiven for thinking that most online shops are pretty useless at times.

I like most people have personal faves sites for shopping but I can honestly say that Bensonsworld have never given me a moments worry.

Try looking for threads on techtronics (or even futureentertainment) if you want to see people with real grudges against companies.
