View Full Version : Broadband with o2 £7.50 + topup mobile £10 every 3months
Broadband with o2 £7.50 (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=144) must topup mobile with £10 every 3months (course one can have a monthly contract) otherwise £12.50. No joining fee 02 Broadband (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=144)
o2 bought BE - one must have an enabled exchange with their equipment installed
This is not some crap service added on "free" to a telephone service - that diminished at busy times

Also, if you make a move today (31/03/08), there's no set-up charge.
I'm switching from Pipex to o2. They've sent me maybe 6 text messages telling me about the status of my account, the location of my router ("Would you like it delivered 1st, 2nd, 3rd, reply 1 2 or 3" which was ace), and so on. Really happy so far and I haven't even been connected yet. Gone for the £10 for 16mb package.
Thanks for the heads up, I'm an 02 PAYG customer with BE broadband so this is just what I was waiting for.
Unfortuantely if you are already a BE customer, unless you have your MAC code it doesn't seem to be possible to sign up with O2 today and avoid the joining fee/get the 100 day guarantee. I've raised a ticket with BE (dont bother ringing as they wont give it to you over the phone despite what the 02 site says) however, the MAC code probably wont arrive until tomorrow.

we joined 02 from pipex..
best thing we ever did..£7.50 a month..
and so far customer sevices been great..;)
If they are a LLU service does that mean you have to move phone provision to them as well? Unfotunately I am stuck with BT for my phone as I use their "Call Sign" service for a second number. My exchange has a date of 31/03/08 for O2/Be presence.

Nope, you can keep your calls with BT Olly232, o2 don't do calls :)
DVDKev there is no joining fee in April either :) Also the 100 day money back is gone, but replaced by a 50 day one so you are still onto a winner

I've been with O2 for 3 months now and the service has been excellent. Don't D/L or play games online so can't comment on that side but for general email and surfing they are excellent
Have been with O2 broadband since Dec.
Very high speeds at all times and freefone 24/7 UK tech support centre.
How glad am I to have ditched the totally useless Virgin.net service that used to give me a 600kbps connect at anytime in the evening. With O2 it is more or less about 6700-7000 kbps at all times.

Been talking to 02 this evening about upgrading my phone contract, and the chap in retentions offered me the broadband free of charge for a whole year. Seemed too good to be true, so i thought i should check out whether O2 broadband were any good or if i would just be signing up to all sorts of trouble. They sound ok though.
I'm beginning to wonder if i misunderstood him to be honest, but he's phoning me back about both the mobile and broadband tomorrow, so i'll let you know.

m8 there's a good chance you're right - there's a lot of folk getting free broadband. If you think about it it's 12x£7.50 but if you're enticed into another contract it's well worth it form o2 and the product is rated highly so they will hope you will stay with them.
I tried to sign up online and got a message that 'Super fast O2 Broadband will be zooming into your area soon'.
My exchange is not one of the 230 pending on Samknows. Are they telling me porkies?

They will be bringing out an ip-stream product at some point during the year for all exchanges, so it will be available but maybe not ADSL2+ for everybody. I can't get it either and I'm 220m from the exchange :(

Heard back from the O2 chap today and can confirm that he was indeed offering free broadband for an entire year, which includes a free wireless router. So i signed up.
I was signing up to a new mobile contract at the same time.
