Hi Folks

Has anyone else been having problems with Gameswire.com recently?

I've had two PS2 games on order with them since the start of January, and have received several assurances from them that the goods would be dispatched soon.

They deducted the money (about £66 total) from my Egg CC as soon as I placed the orders, and this evening I received the following email...

Dear Gameswire.com Customer

Gameswire.com is currently in talks seeking to sell all or part of the company to another retailer. The company is being sold on the basis that the purchasers will take on all our existing orders for fulfilment or refund.

Therefore, at present, we are only accepting orders for in stock items, and all existing orders are frozen (no items will be dispatched or refunds processed for a short period). We hope to have concluded any sales talks within days, and we will be keeping our customers informed by email of any important developments.

Given the circumstances, we are unable to accept enquiries by telephone, but you can email us at business@gameswire.com (for business matters) or customer.services@gameswire.com (please remember that all existing orders are frozen and you will need to bear with us)

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience. We are working hard to find a solution which satisfies everyone's needs.

Best Regards

Customer Service Team

Has anybody been in this situation before, and what's the best way to handle it? I'm concerned that I'm not going to see anything in return for my hard-earned, and I really can't afford to lose that kind of money right now.

In short, I'm disgusted with this company, and would recommend that everyone steer well clear of them in future. I know that they help sponsor these forums, but to be honest, I've never come across company with shoddier customer service.

Sorry for the ranty nature of this post, but I'm fuming right now!

Cheers

BPP

I'll close this one seeing as it was posted after the other thread. :)
