WOW! Check this out:

Nice...but I'm not paying $119 plus shipping. I'd like to get hold of the original movie soundtrack, though. I have a large amount of Indiana Jones and Star Wars so I feel I should complete the set :D
I'm tempted by that to be honest. Although do I really want 2 discs of music from Superman IV?

I bought it, and Superman IV is amazing. Forget what you've heard in the film. They are exceptional scores.
Got mine the other day. Tis a thing of beauty.
Haven't listened to the entire thing yet (I'm up to disc 5). The sound quality is superb & the accompanying book is excellent.
Is it worth $120? It was for me, but I'm a huge Superman & soundtrack geek. :dork:
& as for Superman IV? It's not a great film, but it's a cracking score.
Damn it - there £75 with a will of it's own almost gone then.
Panavision - do you mean that you have the actually boxset above? What is the packaging like etc?

My one caveat is that the box is a little too big for its contents. Had to put a bit of card in there to stop things rattling.
Maybe I'm just anal that way. :dork:
Before I order - I am going to get stung for customs? Or will they mark down?
Mine (ordered directly from SAE) was marked at $10 & listed as a book on the customs declaration, so no customs troubles at all.

SAE mark down. :)
Lots of info here:

Superman The Movie sounds pristine.
Superman 2 doesn't sound thin
Superman 3 is very surprising.
Superman 4 is a revelation.
The animated stuff I've yet to hear.

I read the 160 page book that comes with it. The details are absolutely fascinating. I didn't know that "End Title" music in the film STM was supposed to the "Main Titles"
The S4 score is like 2 hours long! Very, very fascinating. The film didn't deserve the score. The sound quality is amazing. Worth every penny.
I ordered on Wednesday. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
Just finished listening to the last disc. Magnificent set.
Just a shame it had to end on that horrendous Giorgio Moroder version of the main theme. :gag:
Kinda killed the mood ;)
My copy has just arrived today. Over 11 hours of music. The book is great - rest of the packaging doesn't quite feel premium enough for the price tag.
Going to get stuck into disc 1 now. Just need to flog my original 2 disc Superman The Movie release.

How ironic, given that perhaps the biggest Oscar travesty of all time was Williams not winning an Oscar for Superman The Movie, one of the greatest scores ever, to... Giorgio Moroder!
It's a lot of money to pay for this set, given I only want Superman IV. I already have three Superman: The Movie CD sets (original Japanese version which included all available tracks, Varese 2 disc re-recording, and recent-ish 2 disc spec ed).

STM sounds way better than the 2-disc Rhino. It's sourced from the first generation 6 track.
My Supes boxset arrived today, suprised to have it so quick after shipping. Thanks to Panavision for the link.
I would have loved the 'S' Logo on the front of the box too.
What does FSM Box 02 mean, is this not the 1st edition?

The initial pressing of 3000 copies of "Superman: The Music (1978-1988)" has now sold out!
The second pressing will bear the marking "Edition II" on the first page of the book, but will otherwise be identical to the first. The product is currently in manufacture and another run of 3000 copies is expected to be available in early June.
