Oli

Do you know if the scarts in/out are RGB enabled ? It's just the last dvd recorder I bought (Liteon) they were not, hence rubbish recording quality

Thanks

I tend to not assume things and instead choose to ask harmless questions with the only negative consequence being an unhelpful reply from someone clearly cleverer than me

Well surely it could just be a DVD recorder that also happens to be a VCR, saving you the need to have 2 units, but doesn't allow cross copying?

Could I hook up my camcorder to one of the devices and copy directly to DVD?

My DVDRW300 arrived today. Looks to be in pretty good nick except for the manual which is horribly dog-eared and tea stained. :gag:

Sorry I didn't realise I'd missed any posts  It has been confirmed by a forum user from another forum that you can copy any unprotected VHS tapes to DVD.

The machines should be basically brand new, the box maybe a little tatty but everything will be complete and working. If it isn't you are welcome to a replacement or a refund.

As all the Funai DVD/VHS recorders have gone I am now looking at the Toshiba D-VR17.

Does anyone know if this will let me record all my old Hi-8 camcorder tapes to DVD via the s-video or composite external in?
