Has anyone in the world done as many awesome collaborations as Mark Lanegan has? How the hell does he pick them? Off the top of my head I can think of Mad Season, the Desert Sessions, Soulsavers, Isobel Campbell, QOTSA and the Twilight Singers. Then there's Screaming Trees and his solo stuff.
Anyway, he's together with ex-Afghan Whigs/Twilight Singers bloke Greg Dulli again. It sounds pretty great from what I've heard, and there's a small tour in April. I've never managed to see him live so I'm going to try and catch them at the Glee Club in Brum.
I;ve only heard the stuff on Myspace so far but it is fantastic. I'll be picking up the album very shortly. The touring band is basically the Twilight Singers along with Lanegan and that lot toured last year and were apparently awesome.
I'll be off to the manchester gig.

I think Greg Dulli has one of the best voices ever. Haven't heard this stuff but will check it out.
Wow what a superb album I was apprehensive about this as I wasn't sure it would be as good as I anticipated (ala Page/Krauss) but I needed have worried. Along with Dirty Sweet one of best albums released this year.
Superb, moody, epic, bleak.
Call me a depressive but me likey!
I'm a HUGE Dulli fan and consider him a genius of a songwriter.
I'll be away the week they hit these shores and I'm gutted to say the least. TS always give great value live, though I did catch them with Lanegan guesting on a few tracks a couple of years ago.
The album's a slow burner, but is terriffic.
Get the Stitch In Time ep from last year, it's got a great cover of Massive Attack's Come Live With Me with ML on lead.

For me the best track on that EP is "They Ride" :notworthy
Anyone got Adorata or know much about it? I've only just stumbled across it via the new genius feature on iTunes (which is costing me a pretty penny tonight). Only sampled the 30 second previews but it sounds great.
I didn't know anything about it till you posted this. I found this on wiki. "In September 2008, The Gutter Twins released the Adorata EP, available exclusively through iTunes. Adorata features two previously unreleased originals and also contains cover songs by José González, Primal Scream, Scott Walker, Vetiver, and Eleven. A portion of Adorata’s proceeds will go to the Natasha Shneider Memorial Fund. Natasha Shneider was a friend of the band and the late lead singer of Eleven."
I wonder if it will ever come out on CD?
