THE RAGE (http://www.therage.com) Have gamecubes in stock and are willing to ship to the UK. I was seriously considering the following package;
1 Gamecube (Jet)
1 Additional Controller (Jet)
1 Official Memory Card
1 Copy of Rouge Squadron 2
1 Copy of Smash Bros Melee
for USD 448.48 inc shipping. They also say, and i quote;
If you choose "USPS Express Mail" or "USPS Global Priority Mail" for your shipping option, we will automatically send your order as a "gift" with a low customs value. We will also NOT send any paper receipt with the order. This works 99% of the time in avoiding customs taxes.
Seems like a good deal (or am i gullible?). Any opinions? Anyone ever used them before? Cheers.

Try ncsx (http://www.ncsx.com) you'll get a modded Jap/Us machine for a modest price. Top service and they mark down prices so there's no customs charge.
aren't all cubes from www.therage.com modded?
maybe I missed something

Sorry, but you missed something :)
The gamecube page says "Gamecube system US" as well as unmodified JAP and modified JAP/USA cubes. Unfortunately, they are now sold out of the US models.

Well I don't know about you, but I have been keeping a close eye on that site since the cube launched in November.
Throughout that time, I have never seen them have stock of US machines. Like many internet companies, they are listing the US machine, but are not supplying it.
This is because independant outlets have received little or no allocation of machines whilst Nintendo have favoured large chains like Walmart (who won't ship to the UK).
It's the same pretty much everywhere. www.tronixweb.com for example are in the same situation.
Have you read this link:
http://www.therage.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/online-store/scstore/p-gcu-system.html?L+scstore+clfd5964+1017145846
It's not entirely unambiguous due to this comment:
"We are purchasing systems from retail channels in our area and have made them available here for $229"
but take it from me, THERAGE are not supplying US machines.
If you want a US machine from a well regarded, customs friendly supplier, you need to be speaking to:

Thanks for the info m8 but, for myself at least, it has become moot. Rumour has it that the European model will retail for £150 in a few months, i can wait ;) Unless i can pick up a bargain from ebay of course :)
Cheers.
