Does anyone know where I can get a new 14.1" TFT screen for an ACER laptop to replace the 12.1" TFT it already has?
Cheers

Waste of time POMPEYFAN, it will set you back circa £500, assuming there is a screen to fit your particular model of ACER laptop.
It may make more economic sense to either replace the laptop or, depending on your use of it, purchase a standalone TFT screen.
My work experience with ACER laptops is that they are pretty poor as far as laptops go, I personally wouldn't touch them with a 'barge pole'.

You are very correct.
For a Toshiba (I deal with over 60 at work) it costs about £400+VAT for a replacement screen. If the laptop is over 2 years old, it just ain't worth replacing it cos laptops drop lower in price than a dirty hooker :)

Long shot but you could try :-
www.starcomps.com
they have a UK outfit, but it's just been setup and at present is only trading through ebay, they specialise in laptop spares, but they're mainly for more mainstream machines (IBM, Tosh etc.).
14.1" TFT IBM screens (new) from them are available for about £150.
Had the same problem recently and bought a new one! Are you insured by the way - accident at home and all that ;)

There's nothing wrong with the screen (still under gaurantee anyway), I just find it a bit small as I'm partially sighted, so wanted something a bit bigger, I can also detect some flicker - on a desktop I need at least a 100hz refresh:( to stop headaches/eyestrain.
Cheers for the replies, looks like selling it and buying something else will be the cheapest option.
